Here’s my opinion on this - but ultimately you have to decide what is right for you and your relationship with your brother, it’s definitely good to know the upsides and downsides to whatever you decide: I feel it’s Super bad karma to go against your aunt’s specific wishes for you and her money. Your brother will do exactly what your aunt didn’t want to be a part of and I think you would dishonor her by wasting your inheritance on him.

I would not share a penny with a person who constantly makes wrong decisions for his life. It will never ends! You give him one dollar, he will ask 5 dollars next week. More and more! How do I know? I have one sibling just liked yours.

I think we all struggle with guilt when we benefit and another is left out. That’s completely natural. But the thing to remember is that your aunt told you explicitly she didn’t want your brother to have the money. She saw things clearly because she was a little removed from the emotional entanglement. The other thing to remember is that if you give your brother some money, it will only be a temporary fix.
