I don’t understand the assertion dynamic range of film is limited. Maybe color negative? That film does have rigid processing. I characterize black and white negative film, but never see the end of the straight line. It extends past ten thousand times the amount of light that causes a measurable density. I’m sure there’s a shoulder, but I haven’t seen it. I’m ready to mix Ammonium Persulfate into a “super proportional” reducer to experience the “soot and chalk” Ansel Adams warned about.
