God, I hate capitalism. But I love stuff. Life's a real conundrum, eh?

Late Stage Capitalism is burning the world unchecked, because even those who dislike it still buy into the “Capitalism vs Socialism” dichotomy. What we need is two separate words for “you’re free to start your own business and sell stuff for money as long as you don’t screw people over” versus “corporations have more power than democratically elected politicians”.

Maybe there are different types or strains of capitalism, I don’t know, but this particular “pure” type does seem to have a lot of problems- e.g. mass disposable consumerism

What stuff wouldn’t you get under a different system? We need better imaginations.

As someone that used to make/sell jewelry I am conflicted because it’s still stuff, stuff that isn’t a necessity but I prefer handcrafted/vintage shopping to box stores/mass reproduction. Depressing manufacturing still use obscene amounts of plastic on/in so much we purchase.

Sounds like you don’t hate as much as you thought? Also when you say capitalism are you referring to the fractional reserve dollar system or do you mean private ownership and free trade or human greed?

No capitalism wouldn't mean no products, it would just mean the workers at that company get paid fairly instead of the CEO getting a 500M bonus.
