I was pregnant with my second baby and was very sick. I had a work @ home job and they simply didn’t care. I stopped working and I decided then that I’m tired of working for other people. At this time braiding was a hobby. I was so interested in trying and learning styles.

I had no clients and went straight to booth renting. I wouldn’t advise the way I did it, because (1)at the time walk ins were popular (2) a lot of the commission workers were never there and (3) sometimes I wish I would’ve gotten a PT job as well. Most of the time it would be just me, I grew my clientele just by being present from open to close, came in even when I didn’t have clients. I lost a lot in the learning process but it truely built me.
