He's 12. He's learning about emotional regulation. He's learning that his well-being matters. He's learning that, when people make mistakes, they can/should apologize. He's learning that difficult situations and emotions can be discussed without shame. He's learning that it's healthy for him to take responsibility, and that his behaviors have an impact on others. Seems like his future roommates/wife/husband/partner/boss/friends will be pretty happy about these parenting choices.
