While not as serious/tragic as what happened in Georgia yesterday, my wife, a teacher assistant, was injured yesterday while trying to keep one of the school's special needs kids from running into the street and it's not the first time she's come home scraped up or bruised from her job. Educators are already underpaid and underappreciated. The least we can do for them is put politics aside for a minute and find a way to make our schools safer, so they don't also need to fear for their lives.
