On my last day in Belgium, I took a walking tour of a fantastic piece of architecture, built by the Germans in 1871; The Mittag (midday) Choréaque. As soon as we entered, I was hit in the face by the overwhelming smell of sulphur. It smelled like fireworks had been let off in the building; I asked the tour guide - “Is that gunpowder?” He said, “Oui, the Mittag Choréaque is the powderhouse of Bruxelles.”
