I much rather have a strong single player than a forced multiplayer. Just switch off who plays a level. You have a kid, you should be smart enough to figure it out

Sackboy is a good option for multiplayer. Nintendo haven’t done a multiplayer 3d Mario game since 3D world so just enjoy taking turns level to level like in Atro like you would in Mario Odyssey.

I guess my first reaction is that I am surprised that you expected couch co-op from Astro Bot at all. Even disregarding part 2 of your question, the overwhelming majority of games from all parties either A. do not have couch co-op, or B. really half-ass the implementation, IMO (see Mario Odyssey co-op). I follow gaming pretty closely though, so it might not be a reasonable expectation for everyone else to see it that way

Okay I actually am gonna agree with you here in the sense that Astro Bot seems perfect for couch co op. I'm assuming the reason they don't have it in there is because all the additional mechanics and powers would be too chaotic to have two seperate players in there at once, but it would have been a nice addition
