Atheists typically do not "have faith" in the absence of God, as faith implies belief without evidence, which contradicts the empirical approach most of us follow. Instead, many of us base our position on a lack of convincing evidence for the existence of any deity. Furthermore, we do not put "whole faith" in experts; rather, we rely on scientific methods and evidence, which are subject to scrutiny, peer review, and revision as new data emerges.

“Experts” are required to present various forms of evidence for the claims they make. I find it more logical to believe someone who provides things I myself can observe and cannot logically deny than to attribute results that can be explained by other means to an unlikely source.

You clearly have no understanding of the term. The only thing the word atheist tells you is that the person simply lacks a belief in god(s). You have no idea if they deny the existence of god(s) (gnostic atheist), doesn’t believe doesn’t claim there are no gods (agnostic atheist), or has never even heard about the concept of god(s).

I think the problem is that Theists are so tied into the concept of faith that y’all think we have transferred that kind of faith from one thing (god) to another (science.) We haven’t. We accept science as an ongoing learning - we don’t expect it to have all the answers. We are at peace with not knowing things. We don’t need an authority, divine or human. Life is messy. That is okay.
