Totally understand that feeling. Whenever I get my feedback/notes/edits, I skim them quickly and then take a few days away from the work. The second read through always feels more manageable to me personally. Writing is a skill and craft that can be learned and every time you write, you learn a bit more. About yourself, about the process, about storytelling, etc.
