Just had an AI company come and run a PLD session for our Teacher Only Day, I raised a question about the ethics of stealing IP to create content (novels, blogs, articles etc) and profit from it. I was roundly dismissed. It’s too late, it’s already happening, have you tried it? Get on board. The presenter has dyslexia and says she could not have written a paragraph to the standard she would like, now AI does it for her and she makes money from her blog. I don’t know what I’m supposed to feel 1/2

You see the world through your own eyes and process with your own brain and feel with your own heart. AI doesn’t have those glorious, mushy, warm bits. You’re not obsolete.

Also she was talking out of her arse, millions of dyslexic people have been creating JUST FINE without AI for a heckuva long time, so really she's just saying she didn't want to put the effort in to make something good on her own terms - if she can't be bothered writing it, why would anyone bother to read it? Art is made by humans, not machines. You were right and she was wrong.

She can pretend she had something to do with the words churned out on her behalf, but it’s no different than turning on the radio and claiming that makes you a musician.

9 小時內	Paulina Jonušaitė carnaedy	There is a chasm between assistive AI (speech-to-text, advanced spell checking) and generative AI (prompt in, plagiarism out), and yet somehow people are really blind to its existence. As a dyslexic person, she should absolutely be free to use the first category. I am not dyslexic myself, but I have seen that struggle in other people. Absolutely no one should be using the second category (at least in its current form).
