What’s your thoughts on “YouTubers” doing long term reviews but only having a product for couple weeks-months? Technically in the stock market long term capital gains aren’t a thing until 1 year. VideographersofThreads

It’s part of the game, love it or hate it. Personally I’ve been doing more reviews on stuff I’ve used for 6 months plus, or a first thoughts video in the first few weeks and a longer term follow up.

My policy is geenrally 6 months or more for a long term review

I try to do 8-12+ months for long term stuff. If I’m using it heavily I could do 6-12

8 months is usually what’d I’d call a “long term” review, past that if something breaks, it’s usually a sin through my own fault 😅😂

gotta be 6 months at a minimum. That's one full wedding season for me and can give quite a bit of insight, but anything less, nah.

Most things YouTubers do is for engagement, including the stupid "is x camera still good in 2024?" Nonsense. Of course any camera made in the past ~15 years is still good for particular uses.

I only do longterm reviews of equipment I actually use, so far my longterm reviews have come about a year and a half to two years after initial purchase
