Nintendo has made the "mistake" of being consistently good. Mario Wonder, Mario Odyssey, Mario Maker, 3D World + Bowser's Fury. Even the New Super Mario games have been decent.

I think what people are trying to say is that 3D platformers are back even though they’ve already made a bit of comeback for the last seven years with stuff like Hat in Time, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Psychonauts 2, and of course Mario Odyssey.

But Nintendo's going to Nintendo this is kind of new for Sony in the modern era. 

Meh, tired of Mario. This is fresh.

Nintendo graphics peaked well over a decade ago. It's nice to play a fun game that also looks modern

Mario Wonder brought me soooo much joy that I haven’t felt in ages, I already feel like Wonder is overlooked compared to other Mario games but it’s just incredible at every detail 🙌

Nintendo has consistently put out Mario games for decades. I think this is worth celebrating because it's one of the big companies putting a good effort into making a great platforming game. Of course they make R&C too but we get one of those like every 10 years now.
