As far as I know, that’s because of the way the debit machines work - they can’t ask for a tip on just part of the purchase without ringing it up as separate transactions. Choose the manual tip option and tip on the cost of the service without the products added. They’re not actually expecting you to tip on product, it’s just a downside of how the machines work.
