I wonder if it means he was born from sin, as sin is what’s known to be of man. The guy saying Mary was raped would explain that. The church covering up the mistake to make him “holy“ would explain the “gifts” “magic” “powers”, and being raised surrounded by sin would explain the Machiavellian wisdom he had.
