I also don’t like criticism about the price of fine dining in Vietnam for a particular reason: it’s often directed at chefs or restaurants that are trying to elevate Vietnamese food to a fine dining level. People will say things like, ‘This dish on the street would cost…,’ but at the same time, I see them splashing money at foreign steakhouses or other high-end international restaurants.
