I really hate that I have to crop my photos on @instagram 🤬 I mean how hard is it to adjust the UI for 2x3 / 3x2 photos which is the base ratio of all photos taken 🤷🏽♂️ Photographers of Threads what say you?

I agree. I always use the original image aspect ratio against a square background so the viewer can see it as intended. I do it for other photographers on iPads laptops of PC's.

I kind of like that it forces me to think about framing in a different way. I typically crop 3x2 to 4x3 with a 5x4 matte frame for instagram, and I like the look. It’s a similar compromise when printing 8x10, so I’m glad to not have to change my composition for web or print.

Just use a border around your images.. then you don’t have to crop them .. it’s simple.

People have had to crop to print/sell 8x10s and I’m pretty sure magazines rarely, if ever, show 2x3 images. Most people are probably just used to planning for the crop.
