Ooooh ooooh me! I am happy to talk you out of this. I own a GFX system and barely use it. Do you want to know why? Aside from being super fun to edit the files, it’s pointless. Very difficult to get all of that image quality into real life. Seriously, it doesn’t make a difference once you’re out of a computer. Printing, you say? Try a blinded side-by-side, you’ll fail up to 30 inches wide and even then you’ll only know if you get unnaturally close.

Been there done that, ended up buying another RZ within 3 months… GFX100 is amazing though…

I’ve been on GFX for years and love it (just sold my 50S and a 100 is incoming). It’s a really beautiful system. With the film cameras you mentioned, you could probably keep one of them and use the others to fund the GFX system? Then you’d have both options.

They’re not worth very much but I’ll take them off your hands, you know, just out of the goodness of my heart.

The OG 100 is a tank, and the files are incredible, but using it is for sure an acquired taste. I had mine for a couple of years and did some super cool stuff with it, but the battery life and just kinda overall experience of using it wasn’t super fun or inspiring, if that’s important to you. To some degree because it’s not just the camera body that’s massive, but the lenses as well. My RZ is more fun than the GFX was. 😂 And my M (digital) about 3x as fun with probably 85% the file latitude.

why would you do it? you have a medium format and you want to downscale?

Why wouldn’t you look at a Hasselblad digital back? Also very interesting. TBH I also want a GFX but I’m not giving up any MF Film cameras because they are in perfect condition and retain value…
