Hey y'all I survived my first week back at school! Checklist: Bitten - once Sworn at - daily Called mummy by pupil - twice Taught phonics- once Heard readers - 4 times Talked a child down from raging fury- 11 times Avoided being hit by a missile - 4 times. Actually taught a whole lesson - twice. I think this is pretty good for 3 days in a primary PRU.

I am more shocked that it is a primary PRU. I work in mainstream primary and this could be my description over a week.

My daughter teaches year 1 and that sounds a lot like what she says. I’m regularly gobsmacked at what she says 😳

I worked in a KS3 PRU, loved it, but it was hard work preparing lessons for 6 different abilities for 4 days a week. Not sure OFSTED would have approved, of my You Tube clip lesson openers, but the kids lived them.

I miss working in primary PRUs; I booked into my local doctors for a long over tetanus jab and when asked why I need one I explained I work with kids who bite and I was told I was being ridiculous. It was being pissed on I'd like. However I used to sing for a punk band so when the little cherubs used to spit at me I found it quite nostalgic.

What’s a PRU? From what you’ve listed I’m thinking a school for troubled children.

PRU teachers are the UK's superheroes heroes. There isn't anywhere near the media coverage they deserve.

I bloody loved being a TA in a primary PRU. Best job I ever had. Bruised, sworn at daily, but (begrudgingly) appreciated like nowhere else and I’ll never forget the kids. Didn’t know you worked in one ❤️
