I grabbed a few books from yesterday’s ’Stuff Your Kindle’ day and was really happy with supporting authors. But then I noticed one book included “virtual voice narration” - which means AI generated audiobook. Ugh. I decided to listen a bit and it was awful - it felt wrong in terms of emphasis and meaning and so on. I’m left not knowing how to feel - I support indie authors, but ALSO I fully support audiobook narrators. They work hard and truly bring books to life - and AI hurts them.
