It is mathematically impossible to ban guns. First, you need 2/3 of the States or 2/3 of Congress to call for an amendment. Then you need 3/4 of the States to ratify the amendment. There is mixed support for guns in both parties, so supporting banning guns ensures you lose your election. The people who WOULD write the amendment we need, will never be elected. 25 states went to Trump in the 2020 election, so there is no way to expect we’d get 38 states to all support banning guns.
