There's nothing to be worried about if your hardware is all post Google making Nest part of Google Hardware (2018). People forget that Nest was it's own thing, then even after Google bought it (2014) they allowed it to operate as a separate entity under Alphabet (until 2018). Everything that works with Google Home should continue to work for a long time going forward.
