Why is it that most MLB pitchers don’t apologize or acknowledge when they hit a batter? I can understand that most of the time it’s unintentional, but does baseball in general really just excuse it as an “it is what it is” situation?

For some reason it’s, if we hit you, it’s an accident. If you hit us, it’s on purpose. It’s stupid

Same reason football players don’t apologize for a tackle. It’s just an accepted part of the game, everyone involved understands it’s unintentional and accepts it. If you’re going to stand in the batters box eventually you’re gonna get hit.

Cite an example of disingenuous: people who compare getting hit by a pitch to a football tackle. Baseball isn’t a contact sport.

Because most of the time it is intentional. Very rarely does a batter get hit because “it slipped”. Most of the time pitchers throw inside because the batter is crowding the plate. The pitcher will throw inside intentionally to get the batter to get out of the strike zone before he gets hit

I had a friend who played in the bugs and let me tell you more often than not when a player gets hit with a pitch it’s completely intentional.

Sometimes it's on purpose and sometimes it's not. If you only apologize when it's an accident, it's real obvious when its on purpose.
