currently writing a poetry book slated to come out in late 2025 that i fear will be very controversial if it gains any amount of attention or success, especially on booktok. i love it and i think it’s beautifully written if i may say so, but it definitely is a touchy topic for most people. should i publish under a pen name? should i just say it with my chest? it has the potential to make or break my career (it if gains success) (important caveat) what should i do?

If you believe something firmly and are confident in who you are and what you believe is right, I'd want you to say it with your chest. Ultimately, it's up to you, but if the world doesn't except all of you, it doesn't deserve you in the first place Hope that helps 🤷🏼‍♀️

4 小時內	Vincentzen vincentzen_writes_books	This might sound stupid coming from a guy that uses a pen name, but only use a pen name if it's 100% what you would do in the first place for your own reasons. All the poetry I've seen of yours so far has been, in my opinion, excellent ... you shouldn't be afraid to use your real name if that's what you'd chose to do in a vacuum. I wouldn't use a pen name if the only motivation is fearing what others might think. But that's just MY opinion. As an artist it's your perogative either way!
