I emphasize the importance of addressing the problem with the behavior rather than attacking the person. I’ve been intentional about it early on (conscious parenting since birth for both sons) so it’s a principle that’s instilled & when my son says hurtful things I don’t react & will say “I see you need some time to process. When you’re ready to talk we can talk love dove.” & he’ll come back around & apologize & say something like “I’m sorry for being mean. I felt frustrated because xyz” I /1
