Shinjuku/shibuya area. Don’t stay at fancy hotels imo. Try to book an airbnb neae shinjuku for authentic local style living. Maybe stay at a fancy hotel on your lasr couple of days like near the bay? Do it for the plot

Nishiazabu

I liked staying in Ginza. It’s easy to get everywhere, there’s great restaurants, shopping, and hotels are much less thank Shibuya or Shinjuku

Ōtemachi and Marunouchi if you have the money, Hotel Niwa in Chiyoda otherwise, or last a hotel in Kamakura can be fun, it’s 1 hour far from Tokyo by train and in front of the sea

So a few nights in the east side, Ueno is great and a few nights on the west side shinjuku/okubo

Asakusa or Ueno 😊

I like to stay in Kanda - Otemachi. U’re still in Tokyo, but not so expansive and plus u have all the subways there.
