I'm interested, too!
Henning Mankell, CJ Sansom? Both crime but page turners for me. Sansom brings Tudor England to life and the characters are great.
Not so light, Hallie Rubenhold's Five, the personal and social history of the five women victims of J the Ripper. Beautifully written. Thrilling and moving to read about their real lives.
Also Vic Gatrell's The First Bohemians, social history of 17th century Covent Garden. Surprising and entertaining, if a tad dense for a light, escapist read.
