How old is the dog ? Is the dog neutered? All those things can be the reason a dog start to wee inside, uti, stones. Get him checked out by a vet, ours is old, cushing disease and constantly leaking,dripping. Dog diapers inside during the day/night nothing when out with us.

Problems don't ever come "out of the blue." There is always a reason, & many ppl tend to miss the subtle early signs. Yes, confinement can help prevent the whole house becoming a urinal, but it doesn't solve the problem. If she is medically sound, it is likely due to changes in the environment or structure. New schedules, routines, or expectations can be a cause, as well as home improvement projects, suitcases or boxes suddenly out, furniture moved, domestic tension, or neighborhood noises. 1/2

Since vet cleared her. May have to just put her out every half hour til she potties and only then can she come back in. It may be a retraining thing

Sudden behavior changes need to be evaluated by a vet.

As long as the vet didn't find anything, I am with your husband actually. I have a dog that did this for a bit. He's only allowed in a specific room (baby gates could be an option so your cats can still roam) and we go out/on walks every 3-4 hours. He's gotten better but we have the odd accident still. Alongside the other tips of using specific pet laundry additives for soft stuff, enzymatic cleaner.

Is she wetting at night too when she sleeps, or is it always a conscious thing? If she's having accidents in her sleep it could be USMI - very common in middle aged (tho 3 isnt middle aged) spayed females. Something to ask your vet about. If not, and no UTI/DM/Kidney... a behavior consult may be worthwhile. Or lowering household stress and cleaning the areas she goes in with enzymatic cleaners

Have you seen her squat to pee? Or is it leaking out while she sleeps? I'm asking because my girl has hormone based incontinence. Basically only way to diagnose it is to try the meds and see if they work. She was diagnosed at 2 or 3. Also make sure you're cleaning any pee spots with an enzyme based cleaner! If it smells like pee, they're more likely to keep peeing on it.

Maybe try potty training for the beginning and or take her out more often, having a yard is not a solution. If you close doors you will just make her pee in a different specific spot. My 3 year old dog used to pee in one of the rooms because he either didn’t like a friend of ours or to tell him it’s my house. She can even have behaviour issues just because she doesn’t get enough sniffing down or enough mental and physical stimulation

Crate train her. When you are unable to watch her, she can be in her crate. My guess is it will help break the habit.
