I'm in the UK too, and I've never thought to put out a tip jar. Although one band we put together at the last minute for a gig got a nice tip. This guy came up and asked for 'Sweet Child O Mine', and although hadn't ever played it together, we gave it a go. He came back with a bottle of champagne!
