The answer to the previous question, “can the entropy of an isolated system decrease spontaneously?”, is, surprisingly, “Yes!”
Entropy is not an independent variable of a system - Everything that consists the system contributes to the entropy, as it does to energy.
Hence, as particles move freely, a low-entropy state can be reached by a chance for a very short time!
