Especially when the bride has explicitly asked her husband not to. Half of my mother’s wedding photos show her covered in cake. Needless to say they were divorced after 11 years - which was still too long imo.

Feeding each other cake before we feed ourselves was meant to represent putting the needs of our new spouse before our own. It has been corrupted. It’s not cute.
