Keep in mind when you see this that the bottom 50% also own about 2.5% of the nations wealth. So their proportion of tax revenue seems kinda fair. If incomes were distributed more evenly, the relative share of tax revenue would also shift. Finally, this stat is just for federal income tax. Other taxes, especially sales taxes, are a much bigger burden for the non-wealthy.
