I'm half convinced that the actual function of AIPAC is to provide a diversionary target for critiques of Zionism, and to make it easier for said critiques to be framed as antisemitic. I don't think that AIPAC can simply be ignored, but it should very much be de-emphasized in anti-zionist discourse.
