such a good movie. One of my favorites – Zero Mostel is in it. what was done during the blacklisting/McCarthy era must never happen again. Btw - the guy on the left (I forget his name) always please such a wormy, pathetic character. I remember him in the movie, ”An Umarried Woman” .

GREAT movie. And a great last line. The screenwriter was Walter Bernstein and I highly recommend his memoir, "Inside Out." He's a real writer: straightforward, with a dry wit, and a slight shrug about the way of the world. One of the many key lines that resonates for our times: “The Hollywood Ten were summoned before the House committee, but the committee members seemed only stupid; I understood their bigotry but not their power. Who, really, could be on their side?"

I learned about this movie from a Simpsons episode with the same title, loosely based of this film. I plan to give it a watch soon.
