I sell via FB but rarely via Instagram. That said, I think artists sell with a broad range of exposure including: a website, Insta, FB, friends sharing, a resume, , shows, galleries, workshops etc…

Yes on both accounts actually - sold art and as a collector have bought art I’ve found via IG too.

I just don’t understand buying artwork online. Artwork can be so misrepresented digitally.

I think if you can sell a painting for over $500 you can do it on Insta or anywhere else, it’s just a matter of finding people and making that connection.

Some day people will understand social media is part of your marketing strategy & reach. It’s not the marketplace. Social media isn’t the store you open and people walk in to buy, it’s the magazine or newspaper ad that people reference when they walk into your store. It’s what got them to you.

Never sold a thing on Instagram after 8 years on the platform - still waiting for the train to come in but suspect it won’t happen now!
