The current tipping expectations needs to stop. People need to be paid a decent wage. A tip should be reverted back to a “thank you” for the quality of service, not a ridiculous percentage of the cost.

If you don’t want to tip, don’t eat in a restaurant. Until the laws that allow employers to underpay waitstaff BECAUSE THEY ARE COMPENSATED WITH TIPS you are penalizing the wrong people by failing to do so. I agree tipping culture should be abolished but will always tip my server until I know they’re earning a fair wage.
