Around 2010 technological singularity and futurism had a small fringe following with barely anyone knowing what's behind it. Even those that did know what it is usually referred to it jokingly "rapture for nerds" and very few even in tech took anything seriously. This small crowd was probably 2/3 optimists and 1/3 pessimists (terminator). Slowly it grew, first Watson, then Alexnet, then Alphago, then alpha zero.. But 2 biggest tsunami of newcomers followed image generation and chatGPT. ⬇️
