THE BACK STORY
As I review locations in the Palouse, the skies are a strange, yellowish color because of the fires in Idaho, and I thought the prevailing winds went from West to East! In addition, there is the fine, silt dust kicked up by the combines as they race to harvest the crops. They have been doing this earlier than usual, a product of climate change. Because of the changing market, hay and particularly garbanzo beans (shown here) have been the main staples.
