I have said it before and I’ll say it again - we truly have the weakest collection of political candidates at the federal level in my lifetime….I think Trudeau is rudderless and been in power too long and I think calling Poilievre “unpleasant” is incredibly generous, as he openly embraces the worst elements of Canada. I’d love to be inspired by any of them - but I’m not

Yeah it’s a genuine issue. We’re a nation of smart, motivated, likable people and we find ourselves choosing on policy. Wait. Maybe we should choose on policy. (I agree with the problem but we should choose on policies and rip fuck outta anyone who lies to us about policy agenda.)

I agree and I think seeing the shift and mood in the US politics with Harris taking over, only amplifies the feeling that is missing in Canadian politics My motivation now is more to keep Poilievre , yet I do envy the solidarity. He has pulled together between the CPC and PPC. But also by doing so he’s entirely alienated anyone left of CPC It’ll be interesting what comes out of the liberal retreat next week

How would you feel if the writ drops and the Liberals unveil an inspiring platform of policies such as Universal Basic Income, expanded Pharmacare, etc…

I agree. The thought of that, in a country of 39 million, these are the best people the political parties have found to lead this country right now is depressing. I believe that Trudeau should have stepped down as leader. I did like some of the progressive policies the Liberal/NDP agreement has brought forth.

I’m disappointed as well but I think it’s worth a solid look at the Green Party. They have top notch candidates and have continued to fight for the environment, First Nations, investment in real climate action and education. Maybe even merge with the NDP? Who knows.

Bullshit. You’re tired of having a PM who’s competent.

All I ask is just have the temperament and skill set to do the damn job The worst thing in politics is treating politicans like rock stars Policies come and go but governing is not campaigning it’s a day to day grind If Poilievre is unpleasant now 🙄

Rudderless? Look at what has been accomplished. Dental care, pharmacare with NDP support. Decrease in child poverty levels, management of the best economy after Covid, almost completed clean drinking water for indigenous communities etc. So he doesn’t inspire you? So what. He’s working for us. That’s what I want to see in a leader.

Unfortunately, for some people, his unpleasantness is actually a selling feature
