I'll be honest, people getting stressed about continuity, lore or, indeed, common sense, in SW films always amuses me. There's no great world-building, they're not Tolkien or Herbert. Lucas borrowed extensively from other films and made stuff up as they were going along. The original 3 don't hang together if you look too closely, the prequels and sequels never stood a chance. I still love them though, I just don't take them remotely seriously!
