First time hiking in a group for a long time, and it’s still true that the women tend to bond together, chatting and socialising, while the men individually scamper around the outskirts of the group, not talking to each other. One is always trying to outdo the female hike leader by forging ahead and showing her where the track is. Same all over the world. No criticism - as I enjoy a private scamper too - but an observation.
