The 1978 Superman movie is still the greatest representation of the character in the big screen, right? Movie Threads

Yes. My daughter and I watched Man of Steel this weekend. While I didn’t love the movie, Cavill could have been right up there with Reeve with the right story to tell.

Honestly, yes. While the films don't hold up completely, his portrayal of the character as a superpowered goody goody is EXACTLY how Superman should be portrayed. The costume is fantastic, the colors specifically. Chris totally brought a sense of high morals but humility to the role. He plays a being who could rule the world if he wanted, but chooses instead to help it's people, PERFECTLY. Some might think the way he plays Superman is cheesy or old fashioned. They are wrong.

One of favourite opening credit scenes. The kid reading the comic, followed by John Williams score as the credits "fizz" across the screen in space before we arrive at Krypton 👌

Right. At age 15, watching it in theaters, it was life-changing. Now, we have so many big movies like Superman: The Movie that they seem passe. I wish young audiences knew the thrill of seeing this one on the big screen for the first time.
