it amazes me how many NYC "foodies" patronize "japanese" restaurants owned and operated by Chinese whose interests lie more in extracting profits with westernized Japanese foods than serving proper Japanese dishes.

I literally got into an argument cause I’ve been living in Japan almost a Decade and because I no longer think the low quality profit seeking “Japanese food” is good and got told “you’re ruining our experience”.
