Unserious question: why is it SO ADORABLE to my North American ears when Australians pronounce the name “Munroe”? It’s noticeable because they emphasize the first syllable (as in MUNroe) but why so cute? Just maybe, somewhere in the back of my brain, perhaps I’m hearing it in the voice of Muriel (from Muriel’s Wedding)?
