My 9 year old and I have all the same symptoms: headache, fatigue, cough, sore throat, stuffy nose, slight fever. He tested positive for Covid. I’ve tested negative 3 times since Wednesday. But I still have it, right? (I have an appointment for a PCR test at Kaiser this week.)

17 小時內	Doris O structural_integrity	Yes. A positive test confirms that you have COVID. A negative test just means you have tested positive (yet), but can be helpful if you tested positive to continue testing until you are negative again in order to know when you are less likely to infect someone else. (Short version: there’s never false positives, but frequently false negatives). FWIW - no one in my family ever (for 50+ years) tests positive for strep throat even when we’ve been exposed to it and have all the symptoms.

19 小時內	Peter Glover pglover	Last year when three in our household got COVID, all of us were extremely sympathetic for 5 days before throwing a positive rapid test. My wife had it again just last week and tested positive on day 1 of symptoms. A total YMMV.
