Do not go around that bus when the stop sign is out and flashing lights are going. That ticket is brutal.

I have never ever thought that you treat a SCHOOL BUS stop sign that is extended, as a stop and go situation. Now, a few years back the law changed as to stopping or not on a road with a solid median when you are on the opposite side. I need to look up Georgia laws again because, what?!

You stop until the sign goes in and the lights stop flashing. Our busses have cameras. If the lights are flashing and the sign is out, you’re picture will get taken of you pass the bus. You will get a ticket. Caveat is if it’s a divided road (there has to be a physical median) then only the side traveling in the same direction has to stop (same circumstances meaning you don’t move until the bus does).

Our county (population 200k) added cameras to all the buses so they can ticket people. They are catching about 250 per month and that number has stayed steady since the program started. I don't know how you get people to stop.

In Utah, people like to act like this isn't the law. In nicer towns I'll see a little traffic jam worth of cars waiting, but anywhere else people do not even have the eyeballs to see it.

Illegal to not stop for a school bus w its stop arm extended here (MN) unless you are on the other side of a divided road. The busses in our district recently got traffic cameras mounted on them so I assume that would be pretty good evidence for a fine.
