The climate just got weird. The OG clients were great. Solid. But as they move and pass away, we have to gain new clientele. And the new people treat all stylists like the ones they had poor experiences with. I slid over to barbering in a walk-in only barbershop and I love it. Wish I’d done it sooner! If I return to cosmetology, I will be obsessively selective about who I service.

I just don’t want to stand behind the chair for the rest of my life, it’s too much on the body and I don’t see that for my life. Inflation was a blessing in disguise because it broke me down to truly surrender to God and know who I truly am and what’s best for Racheal

Ive been on and off. Some of my thoughts of wanting to put a pause have been due to low clientele, lash techs being catty and the toll on my neck.

People irritating as fucc. Not my clients tho , so I ain’t quitting 😂😂😭😭

I’m thinking about it & it’s because of the people honestly. & it’s not even necessarily people I’ve encountered but just the general mindset people have towards service providers. We’re expected to work for nothing, have a great attitude while doing so, can’t make mistakes, etc. It’s draining.

Not quitting, but I’m closing my salon and going back to being solo. People have no regard for anyone but themselves and as common as turnover is in this industry, it’s become more common in the past few years. It’s too much to invest to build people and have them leave the without getting a ROI. Entitlement and delusion caused by social media. Too many feel like they are deserved success but dont want to actually work for it. I could go on and on but I still do services because I love what i do

I start classes in a couple of weeks. I’ve been thinking about making a career switch all year and now I’m taking the steps. Too much money goes to my business and not enough to me. The expense is crazy. The unpredictable schedule is crazy. Having no benefits, no security, flexibility is CRAZY! I want time paid off, paid vacations, insurance. I want to work from home!

The unrealistic entitlement

I love doing nails but people are mad disrespectful ! Dealing with people back to back is draining. I do have a plan to eventually start taking two good clients three days a week or something.
