Today in the United States, it's Grandparents' Day. If you've read my book, Voices Carry, then you already know how important my maternal grandmother was to me, as she taught me the importance and love of words. When I was a kid, I read the encyclopedia for fun. My first encyclopedia (Britannica all the way!) was a full set bought for me by this same grandmother, who was a former school teacher.
