I think there’s more nuance to this. Indie authors are not in libraries and the wait times for books are abhorrent on Libby. (In my experience anyway) I try to use the library for physical books and KU for digital

And KU is an opt in, right? (Whether or not an author feels pressured into or out of this is another conversation) so all of the authors know the terms and agree? And yes, you can absolutely go to your library and ask if they have it or if they can buy it, but that assumes we have the health/mobility/ability to access the physical building. I love my library, but every librarian I know just wants more people to read more, and will help you achieve that goal in a way that works for you.
