This is Albo ‘doing’ to get headlines. While an ok idea it’s more about headlines than actually making a difference for Australians. We still have Murdoch, fracking, mining, ‘illegal refugees’ with stone age punishment, deforestation, coal tankers through the GBR and we have now formally handed over our military, budget and country to the American military. But at least Albo has saved the kiddies from Elon.. the rusteds will be positively bukkaking themselves. Whoopiefuckingdo

Tbh it is a popular policy in SA, not to mention the school phone ban and I guess they figured it’d be popular more broadly.

Also, politics wonks are engaged with the Murdoch royal commission but the median voter is not, and those are the people that like this policy.

The list is getting very long with the things @albomp & @australianlabor should be doing and have done. I don't think this will appease the public at the next election. Can you imagine ALL the children between 12 and 16 losing access to their social media? 😬 I am glad my daughter is now an adult.

Winning points with the Murdoch press AND distracting from bigger measures to benefit teens and the wider community like putting adequate funding into mental health care? Albo is all in!
